About Us
Our Story
Bent Fork Bakery was born in 1999 in our kitchen, when we made fresh baked gift baskets for all of Mike’s 75 customers. We settled in Highwood in 2004, and have been baking our fresh, from scratch, small batch treats ever since. Baking is truly in our DNA, and along with our staff of 18, we love creating birthday cakes, cookies, pies, wedding cakes and so much more that help to build your family memories!
Special Considerations
Although we are not a vegan or gluten free bakery, we do offer vegan & gf menu’s.
We are not a nut free facility, but are happy to help you find our baked goods without nuts in the recipes.
Let's talk PEANUTS, we are not a peanut free facility. We do not get our sugar, flour, eggs, butter, cocoas and everything else from peanut free sources. We use all the same equipment, ovens, kitchens and sinks. Do we wash our bowls in between batches? Well, you can't bake unless you do:)
Gluten Free MenuCommunity
We are nothing without you, and your support over the past years is truly humbling. We love being part of an amazing town and community. If you haven’t visited the area, besides for delicious restaurants, bakeries, breweries and distilleries, there is a great vintage vibe. Come for the shopping, stay for the miles and miles of beach trails, ravines and natural beauty.
Fundraisers
Community support starts with you, if you have a fundraiser you would like us to donate to, please send us a letter to cookie@thebentfork.com. We never say no.
Location
We are located at 335 Waukegan Avenue, in Highwood. It is actually the same street as Sheridan road, so we are on the east side of the railroad tracks, just across for the Nite n’ Gale Restaurant. Just look for the pink building.
